Mosel-Cup awards Rookie of the Year


Mosel wines have been experiencing a renaissance worldwide for several years now. The connoisseur's portal "Gourmetwelten" took this as an opportunity to organize a new competition in cooperation with Moselwein e.V.

With 160 wines in the competition, the results of the "Mosel Cup" 2023 reveal the full range of Mosel wines. From internationally reknown top companies to absolute newcomers, the jury (see end of text) was offered an impressive selection lot. The results:

The region's flagship wines were predominantly Rieslings in the dry, Kabinett, Spätlese and Auslese quality levels. The jury consisted of: Serkan Özcan (Berlin Capital Club), Oliver Lausberg (China Club Berlin), Ansgar Schmitz (Moselwein e.V.), winemaker Thomas Ludwig (Weingut Ludwig), Anton Stefanov (Take Time for Wine) and Nikolas Rechenberg (publisher GOURMETWELTEN ), As always, it was tasted blind and evaluated according to the 100-point system.
