Die Reise fand vom 6. – 9. September in der Pfalz und im Rheingau statt und wurde u.a. durch den Weincampus Neustadt i.e. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Fischer, unterstützt.

Redner und Themen der Informationsveranstaltung

• Ulrich Fischer – "German Riesling Styles: Impact of Terroir and Winemaking"
• Steffen Schindler, DWI: "Facts & Figures on German Wine" (s.a. pdf, Statistikheft)
• Anne Krebiehl MW – "Alternatives Approaches" und "Let’s talk about Sekt"

Ziel der Reise war unter anderem ein möglichst umfassendes Bild der Regionen widerzuspiegeln, Weine mit Speisen zu kombinieren und natürlich auch die Deutschen Weine insgesamt in ein aktuelles Umfeld zu setzten. Die Fachschullehrer sollen ihre neu erworbenen Kenntnisse an Sommerliers und den HoReCa-Bereich weitergeben. Aus diesem Grunde wurden Betriebe ausgewählt, die beispielhaft die Region darstellen.

Neues Deutschland im Weinbereich

Das Feedback der Gäste war durchweg positiv. Alle bestätigten das Gefühl, ein neues Deutschland im Weinbereich zu erleben. Die Vorträge und Informationsveranstaltungen werden von den Teilnehmern für Schulungen und Informationsveranstaltungen in den Märkten genutzt. Besonderen Eindruck haben die Gruppe der Pfalz Winzer mit ihren hervorragenden Weinen und ihrem Engagement hinterlassen sowie der Besuch der Mainzer Weinbörse, wo VDP-Betriebe ihre neuen Jahrgänge präsentierten.

Die Teilnehmer aus allen Teilen der Welt nutzten den Besuch in Deutschland, um sich auszutauschen und neue und interessante Möglichkeiten zu besprechen, wie sie ihren Schülern Weine der 13 deutschen Anbaugebiete näher bringen können.
